Biography

Dr Poss is a leading expert on the diagnosis and treatment of the medical conditions associated with addiction.  She has been practicing addiction medicine since 1986, when she was in the first group of physicians to become board certified in the field.  Dr. Poss has worked at all levels of care, including detox, residential treatment, and outpatient treatment. She founded the Renewal and Recovery Center of Annapolis, the first Maryland addiction facility to be licensed as a Partial Hospitalization Program. 

Dr. Poss earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Yale University and her MD from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at Johns Hopkins University.
