Dave is a lawyer, professor, mediator, and former public servant. Born and raised in Maryland, Dave attended public schools in Maryland and obtained degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University, and George Washington University. He was a tenured law professor, worked at the Supreme Court of the United States from 2013-14, and served as Special Assistant to the Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission. Currently, Dave teaches law-based courses at the University of Maryland's Shady Grove campus. He also volunteers with the Office of the Maryland Attorney General, the Montgomery County Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Advisory Council (AODAAC), the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department, and the Guru Nanak Foundation of America, a Sikh place of worship in Silver Spring, Maryland that his late father helped establish. Dave founded Second Chance in January of 2018.
