Biography

​

Dave is a lawyer, professor, mediator, and former public servant.  Born and raised in Maryland, Dave attended public schools in Maryland and obtained degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University, and George Washington University.  He was a tenured law professor, worked at the Supreme Court of the United States from 2013-14, and served as Special Assistant to the Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission.  Dave has taught law at Georgetown University, the University of Baltimore, the University of Maryland, and the University of New Mexico.  He also has held fellowship or research positions at Georgetown, Harvard, Oxford, and Stanford. He currently provides pro bono legal services at a boutique criminal defense firm and volunteers with the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department.  Dave founded Second Chance in January of 2018.
