Nick is a certified peer who dedicates himself, at all hours, to helping individuals start their path to recovery. Nick also is Second Chance's primary ambassador, forging relationships with the government and institutional partners in the recovery community. A lifelong Montgomery County resident, Nick grew up in Burtonsville, Maryland, and attended Paint Branch High School. After a long battle with drugs and alcohol, Nick graduated from the Montgomery County Circuit Court Adult Drug Court, which Nick credits with saving his life. Indeed, Nick testified, along with Judge Nelson Rupp (ret.), before the Montgomery County Council in support of the Drug Court. Once in recovery, Nick went back to school, attended college, and worked at the Library of Congress. He obtained his certificate as a CCAR Peer Recovery Coach and Peer Trainer. Nick welcomed his daughter, Valentina, to the world in 2019.
"My recovery is the most important thing in my life. In order to keep what I have, I have to give it away! I absolutely love the work I do and I look forward to continuing to help my community and fight the stigma of addiction."
